Cynthia Schira--Endacott Society Interview1999-09-09 Cynthia Schira, professor of Design at the University of Kansas from 1976-1999, received her MFA at the University of Kansas in 1967. After joining KU’s faculty in 1976 she was instrumental in building a textile design program known throughout the world. During her interview she relates her experiences as a student at the Rhode Island School of Design and L’Ecole D’Art Decoratif in France during the 1950s. She shares memories of becoming part of the fiber art movement of the 1960s and the selling and exhibiting of her work.
