Purpose of the drawing unknown; the bird, which looks like a Ring-necked pheasant, was not indigenous to St. Helena, but introduced for sport.  Removed from a mount bearing Sotheran's pencil notes "Stack (Lieut. F.R.) St Helena Pheasant / 2 Drawings" and "Pair 4/4/-."  Listed in Piccadilly Notes, 22.
