Principal toucan ca. 18" long (Gould's birds are "the size of life" unless stated otherwise) plus 2 others more distant. Long, strongly-hooked bill, somewhat like Pteroglossus viridis or Pteroglossus humboldtii. Not found in the published editions of the Monograph of the Ramphastidae, or family of toucans. What the purpose of these drawings may have been is unclear; perhaps Gould intended a further revision and extension of the work.</mods:note><mods:identifier displayLabel="filename" invalid="yes" type="local">ksrl_sc_gould_2036.tif</mods:identifier><mods:identifier type="pid">ku-gould:18295</mods:identifier><mods:identifier type="uri">https://digital.lib.ku.edu/ku-gould/18295</mods:identifier><mods:identifier displayLabel="Gould number" type="local">2036</mods:identifier><mods:subject><mods:topic authority="fast" valueURI="http://id.worldcat.org/fast/1048358">Ornithology</mods:topic></mods:subject><mods:subject><mods:topic authority="fast" valueURI="http://id.worldcat.org/fast/1048351">Ornithological illustration</mods:topic></mods:subject><mods:physicalDescription><mods:form authority="marcform">electronic</mods:form><mods:internetMediaType>image/tiff</mods:internetMediaType><mods:digitalOrigin>reformatted digital</mods:digitalOrigin></mods:physicalDescription><mods:relatedItem type="original"><mods:physicalDescription><mods:form authority="marcsmd" type="technique">drawing</mods:form><mods:form type="material">pencil</mods:form></mods:physicalDescription></mods:relatedItem><mods:relatedItem type="host"><mods:location><mods:physicalLocation authority="fast" valueURI="http://id.worldcat.org/fast/530405">University of Kansas</mods:physicalLocation><mods:physicalLocation>University of Kansas.
