Dear Bud:

I have just returned from two coaching schools for the
Iowa and the Kansas high school athletic associations, and this
accounts for my not having answered your letter sooner.

The Big Six rules do not permit the scheduling of games
with independent teams. I am sure you realize that. It is not
' our desire not to play you, but rather the conference rule that
we cannot abrogate.
