OFFICE OF THE PHYSICAL FITNESS OFFICER &rmy Air Field Herington, Kansas 31 August‘ 1944 Dr. Forrest C. Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas ~ Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: 3 In reference to our telephone conversation of this morn- ing, I have given considerable thought to your tentative pro- poSal to play an early basketball date. Cur policy here is to play our home games on the Base each Saturday night. That would work out nicely in your case as it would allow you to leave Lawrence on Saturday lorning and from here on Sunday morning. We will provide two four- teen passenger coaches to transport your players between Abilene and the field, which is about twenty-five miles over good roads. In the matier of dates, would an early date on November 25 on the Base here be out of line? For a return game at Lawrence, we can sehedule practically any date you might suggest. Your cooperation and assistance in endeavoring to schedule this home and home series is sincerely appreciated by the entire military compliment of this field. Hoping that I may hear from you Soon and with best wishes for a successful year. sineerely yours, VINCENT JY HOG: ist Lt., Air Corpeé Physical Fitness Officer
