O BOX 2515 KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI September 7, 1944 Athletic Director University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Sir: In an attempt to make the coming basketball season one of Kansas City's most colorful and enjoyable, the Heart of Americe Sports Association is extending your university a cordial invitation to play basketball here. We realize that most basketball schedules are arranged, no doubt yours is completed. It is not our intention to try to break into your schedule, but if you have open dates or scheduled games in this section, we would appreciate an oppor- tunity to present your team to the Kansas City basketball fans. This could be accomplished by means of an exhibition game be- tween either a college of your choice or a team of your caliber selected by our association. Several teams of your classification have expressed their desire to play here and we are seeking a suitable opponent for these teams. Arrangements will be made for play in the Main Arena of the Municipal Auditorium which has a seating capacity of 10,000 persons. Further information may be obtained by writing this association at the above address. ~ ARTHUR LEWIS, President. AL/eg
