Ootober 25, 1944. “Mr. Reaves Peters, Commissioner, Big Six Conference, 242 So. Chelsea, I have just talked to George Edwards over long distanc telephone telling him that Kansas will not play any of the gemes on December 15 and 16. The fact that Bruce was interested in the take car 0, we are playing Rockhurst College in the hall on 12th, and if we went in on the 15th and 16th, and again on the wv as if we were hogging the dates, This ‘or Kansas from the viewpoint of the other Big Six schools. would look bad fhe primary reason for calling George was to get his opin- ion on the sehools that we should olose with. ie have Frosty's Colorado team practically set for the 25rd. Pepperdine has written me and I think we sould get thane Cliff Rock of Denver also wrote me, and I wanted to see which George preferred. I heartily agreed with him when he decided ar, becaus is rather an outlaw school on the Coast. Ey @ , would make Missouri, Kansas State and Kansas, and if we get Denver for Friday night end Colorado for Saturday night, our worries are over. I will kmew in a few days. I have told Mr. Hoff, the manager of the Auditorium, that we would take the 22nd amd 23rd and that Bruce Prake would handle all arrangements for the 16th, and that the 15th would be open. I also asked George regarding officials and he stated that Lance and Parke Carroll would be very satisfactory, as would Oberhelman. So far as I am concerned lance is agreeable. I think Oberhelman is good enough to bring in for one game if we can't get him for both. I am speaking now of the 22nd and 25rd. He might break away for the two games on those dates if we would put it up to him in the right way. What do you think? Sincerely yours, ‘Director of Physical Rducation, FCA:AH Varsity Basketball Coach. ~
