UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI COLUMBIA September 26, 1944 INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS Dr. F. C. Allen, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan. Dear Dr. Allens: Since dropping a long letter to you in the mail box at noon today I am in receipt of a letter from Frosty Cox. He says that Colorado is resuming varsity basketball this winter and enquires if there is any chance of breaking into some Kansas City games. [ guess that Shelton passed the word along to him. Seems like I've heard of some personal friction between you and Frosty. If that is true he and his team may not be welcomed by you in such a series and I wouldn't attempt to be a peacemaker. From my own point of view, though, Colorado would make a swell fourth team for the 22nd and 23rd games. I have taken the liberty to tell him that there was an opening when I last heard from you, and to wait a few days before sewing up the dates until either you or I can get him word. If, for any reason, you are willing to bring in Colorado but wish me to handle the correspondence I shall be glad to do so, However, if you prefer not to I will refuse him,- if you want me to do SO,- in a manner that will hurt no one. Yours truly, George R. Edwards
