October 19, 1944. Mr. Beret Fe Shelton, Untveruity of Wyoming, — Laramie | : » Wyoming. Dear Ev: I am afraid we are in a little difficulty with your game. Bruce Drake called me and when I told him that Kansas did not want to play on the 16th and 16th, because it would be too difficult to arrange games when Oklahoma did not want to pley Kansas or any other conference members, he said, “Well, I will take it over, then, and *. wade arrange it.” So I have turned over the dates to hime Sin iearay tens ine: weeds Ma play Abed SON. eal: le ma want to play on the 15th. The fact that we are playing Rockhurst College in Kansas City on December 12th, and then playing again on December 22 and 23, prompted me to the opinion that should we go in on the 15th and 16th it would appear to our Big Six brothers that Kansas was overdoing The Bannan Gity date angle. I was endeavor ing to arrange a schedule for the four dates, December 15 and 16, and 22 and 23, because I promised the coaches of the Big Six that we would keep these dates open and the Auditorium has been ho] them, so I felt to keep faith with everybody we should arrange the schedule for these dates. But now since Bruee has taken it over, you doubtless will hear from him. For our 22nd and 23rd dates we have tentatively scheduled Frosty for the 23rd and we are looking for someone for the 22nd. Perhaps Wyoming and Kansas oan get together in Kansas City in a pair of games next year or where four college tears are playing.. I thank you for your kind expressions, and I assure you I am definitely interested in building the game of basketball. While every individual normally looks to his own interests, yet he must be unselfish enough to allow the other fellow some latitude. - With all good wishes, I am Sincerely yours, _ Director of Physical Education, FOCA:AH . Varsity Basketball Coach.
