Allen Basketball Coach University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doc: In my previous letter to you, I stated that I was only interested in December 16. However, if we could get Everett Shelton to come in on the 15th, we might be able to get the Seahawks to change this date for us. I had rather go shead and take my licking from the Seahawks and let you schedule any team you like rather than try to schedule a game on the 16th myself. It is possible that Oklahoma University could play on the 15th and 16th providing we follow the double-header idea on both nights. I don't know who you have in mind on the 15th if Wyom- ing and Kansas get together. If you have some other Big Six school already engaged, you can count Oklahoma out on December 15. I re- ceived a letter from Reaves Peters saying that Arkansas would be a drawing card, due to the publicity received in their unfortunate accident prior to the N.C.A.A play-off. I am leaving your opponent to be selected, as it should be, by you, end if Shelton will not come in on the 16th and you have no other team in mind, I will be glad to come in and schedule some team other than the ones that would be in on the 16th. I am sorry I was unable to reach you by telephone yesterday, and under- stand that you left for Tulsa for your game with the professionals. Let me hear from you at your convenience, and whatever you decide will be perfectly satisfactory to me. Sincerely yours, ruce Drake Basketball Coach BD sng
