Rockhurst College, R” Rockhurst Road and | Kansas City, Missouri. ost Ave., Dear Lew: | I am in a plokle, lew, and I hate like the dickens te put you on the spot by having you play Kansas State one night and Kansas the next, but I am really up ageinst it. You see, lew, we are plaving Washburn on the 4th at Topeka, and on the 8th at Lawrence, then play you in Kansas City on the 12th, The 19th would be the lest day that wo sould play you because we have only the 18th and 19th reserved here at the auditorium, and we | are playing in Kansas City on the 22nd and 23rd. We have sot a number of men on our football squad who will be on our basketball team, and we will have so few days to get ready that I would like to ask you to play on the 19th here to help us get in shape for our season. You know how valuable competition games are in molding a team and finding really who are your competitors. I will appreciate it if you will accept the 19th, and we will do something for you some time. Charles Aylward is a very clever boy and playing a fine game for us. We are very happy to have him with us. You have certainly taught him a lot of basketball and he is a dandy boy in every respect, Won't yoy write me at your earliest convenience? - We will want to begin to give a lot of publicity to our game in the Hall after the Kensas~-}issouri game on the 23rd, so from the 25th on begin to play your game up in the local press. I am hoping that we have a fine crowd. 0 9.4 /with a2) good wishes, an Sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education, FCA:AH 7 . Varsity Basketball Coach.
