September 21, 1943 To Basketball Coaches, Dr. F. ©. Allen, Kansa s Bruce Drake , Oklahoma George Edwarés , Missouri A. J. Lewandowski, Nebraska Gentlemen: I contacted Mr. Hoff today and have very little news that is good to report. The date of Dec. 17 has been contracted for by an Evangelist and he will not make a change; he feels that the last night will be his big money night- I had always thought that they counted on the last night as an ideal night for saving more Souls. The night of the 18th. is open. The week-end of the 3lst. and lst. was suggested but that too is taken for the big Christmas party. The week-end of tke the 10-11 i8 taken but he feels sure that he could make a change here if you would care to come on that night. I remember that Nebraska has a game scheduled on that night; perhaps others have planned to play on that week-end. Mr. Hoff spent the entire day in an attempt to get the 17-18 open for you as he is very enxious to have you play here this Winter. He has some week-end datessopen in January but of course that would not help this combination. Sorry I couldn't make a more satisfactory report. ¢ very cordially yours, R. E. Peters P.S. Will be looking for your Conference schedule right away, and | your non-conference games as they are scheduled.
