Dear Doc.,

I have just finished talking with Clarence Huff (who
between you and I is very much of the George Edwards
type of man) who informs me that he has not received
any confirmation from you releasing the date of Dec,
18 to me.

What I mean by the little mention in parenthesis in the
above paragraph, everyone in the Big Six knows how jeal-
ous Mr. Edwards is of Dr. Allen's ability in success#ul
promotions such as the N.C.A.A. of four years ago. The
same condition exists between this gentleman and myself.

I wish you would at your earliest convenience please drop
him a short note releasing this date to me so that I may
complete my arrangements for advertising with the New York
