February 11, 1944. Mr. Reaves Peters, Big Six Commissioner, 342 So. Chelsea, Kansag City, Mo. Dear Reaves: I find that many of the officials are not pointing gut the individual who fouled. This makes it necessary for the soorekeeper to blow the whistle and find the identity of the man fouled. It is too late, perhaps, for this year, but why wouldn't it be possible to have the officials code of signals shown by the referee. It is very helpful to the coaches as well as the crowd. A lot of officials still like to blow the whistle and then walk away without pointing out the — fouled or the type of foul made. : I am sending you the Kansas Eleotric Power Company's animated caricatures which have been on our program, but .of course the signals have not been used by any of the officials. Don't you think that we should require this of our officials? I would like to have your reaction. Sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education, FCA: AH | Varsity Basketball Coach. Ence
