duly 17, 1942. Mr. Henry P. Toa, : Director of Athletics, Oklahoma A. & M. College, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Dear Hank: : Jack Gardmer was in this morning and arranged to play us a couple of basketball games. As you know, we are playing the Pre-Flight School in Kensas City on January 29, and Great lakes on the 30th. If Tony Hinkle had gone ahead with the errangements so we could have met in Kensas City - we would have made everybody a let of money. But tony pre- ferred to play George Edwards and that blew up our perty. However, Jack Gardner is very anxious to play you in Kansas City on January 29 when we play the Pre-Flight School of Iowa City. Do you have that date open? If you do, we will cut you in equally with the Pre-Flight School and Kensas. Gardner says he will be willing to come for expenses and I think a game between your outfit and Jack Gardner‘s out~ fit, together with our appearing on the floor the same night, Co ee If we could match an opponent for you on the 30th that would prove a good drawing card we would still be willing to do that. Can you think of anyone that we would not have to cut the pie fom ways for - someone to play Oklahoma A. & M.? You see, Hank, if we out it four ways it will be cutting into the earnings but if we cut it three ways and get someone to pley for expenses then we will make enough money for every~ ONGe But if you have only the 29th open what do you say as to playing on the 29th? Very cordially yours, Director of Physical Education, PCA: AH” Varsity Basketball Coach.
