Big Six Basketball Coaches

Gentlemen:

Assignments for your conference games has been
made, and we are awaiting word from you about your non-confer-
ence games before making those assignments; some of you have
completed your non-conference schedules.

A letter from Jack Gardner today tell s me that
he will be bocated at Gardner,Kansas<some thirty miles from
Kansas City for the coming year. He will coach the basketball
team of the Naval Training Unit there. Jack will be available
for services as an official in basketball. If you would like
to use him in some of your non-conference games won't you let
me know at once; should you be willing to use him in conference
games should there he the necessity of replavements won't you
tell me what games you would be willing to use him.

I don't know anything about his work as an off-
icial but my guess would be that he will be a good one- at least
a conscienbious hard working official.

Although I have a fee ling that Ted O'Sullivan
will not be available when the basketball season rolls around
I felt that we owed him the consideration of ass igning him to
some games- he has felt all along that he would be available for
football and basketball. I think he is still stationed at the
Reception Center at Fort Leavenworth. Parke Carroll assures me that
he will be located here for the ¢ oming football and basketball
season.

Abb Hinshaw just notified me that his job at
Minneapolis was taken over by the Government,and that he would
be either in Kansas City or Omaha this coming winter; I will
probably assign him to some non-conference games.

; Abb Curtis has bee n released by Mr. J.W.St.Clair
for the following dates: Feb. 17, Mar. 1-4-11. Sorry we can't
use him more.
