Dear Mr. Porter:

The following boys were given an Inc. on your grade
ecards last week. Since the boys had no other marks against
them and it was necessary that we indicate at that time that
the boy was passing or failing, we assigned a grade of D to
these boys. These boys are all continued in the program and
their final grade must show a Dor better on the card which
is to be turned in to this office by Saturday of this week.

the general level of their marks in other subjects was good,
the Board concluded to have you change these F's to D's.

All grades which:are to be changed should be in this
office by Saturday noon. A ruling by Col. McMorris has
indicated that no grades shall be reported as F unless they
were reported last week as F. In other words, whatever
changes of grade are made would have to be above the F level.
