Dear "Phog":

Thank you very much for your kind invitation for
Mr. Peterka to make a visit to Lawrence where you will try to
remedy his ailing wing. He has been bothering me for several
days inquiring if there had been any communication received
from your office. He is a serious minded fellow and is really
very anxious to find out if there is any chance of his ever
getting to use his soup bone in a baseball game. I am certain
that he would be willing to walk on his hands if you thought
it would help his sacroiliac. I will get in touch with him
as soon as possible, md I feel certain that he will give you
a ring in regard to the best date for you to handle his case.

You know, “Phog", that I am interested in having a
good baseball pitcher on the staff, but after all, you md I
have lived long enough to know that the boy's welfare comes
first. If you are able to help him he is always going to re-
member you with deep gratitude in his heart for the rest of
his life.
