THE FARMERS AND MERCHANTS STATE RANK AUGUST W. LAUTERBACH, PRESIDENT if : < S.H. ALEXANDER,CasHIER sir Cc.M. MILLER, Asst. CASHIER -, ar Y CoLBY.KANSAS. May 24th, 1941 Dr. F.C. Allen, Director of Physical Eemeation, The University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear Dr. Allen: Mr. Bob Raugh who is football and track coach in the Colby High School and a darn good one, tells me he is interested in getting some sort of a part time job at the University and at the same time work on his Master's degree. Bob is a wonderful fellow and has been a very successful coach here. He came to us from Nebraska University and during his four years in Colby has won our league 3 times, tied for 2nd place one in football. This year his first as a track coach, he lost the league meet but won the regional at Scott City. Bob has a wonderful personality, gets along famously with boys and he really puts something into his teams, He isn't especially one who drives the boys but he puts his stuff across, and incidentally I might say he really has something in football, knows a lot of plays and how to execute them. I don't know exactly what kind of a job he wants, but as I heard he might see you, I am taking the liberty of writing you to personally testify that Bob Raugh is a good guy personally, has personality and certainly knows how to coach. With kindest personal regards, I am Sincerely yours, bea Aug. W. Lauterbach P.Ss Dr, Allen, I almost forgot to mention anything you can © do for Bob will be greatly appreciated by me personally. , Aug.
