I am enclosing the recommendations of Melba Schilling,
University of Illinois, From all the applications
received for the position of dance instructor, I am the
most interested in hers, e

I have talked to Miss Freer, who is the director of
physical education for women at the University of
Illinois, on the telephone. She gives very high recom-
mendations for Miss Schilling, Since I have attended
the University of Illinois and have also taught under
Miss Freer I feel that I can place complete confidence
in her recommendations.

I have wired Miss Schilling, as you suggested, so that
she will not accept another position before official
confirmation can be made here,

Miss Freer felt we would be able to contract Miss Schilling
for $1300,

I hope definite arrangements can be made very soon.
