June 10th, 1941 Dear Dewey: Realize that I am a little delinquent © in enswering your letter regarding Floyd Hanson but finel exams and all of these things demand attention at this time of the- year. After Henson came to us from C. of E. he hed a bad year scholesticglly, but after that he found himself end made a very good record as a student. ‘When he left here a couple of years ago, I had a great deal of confidence in him. I thought he would be able to fit into the Sabetha situation in a fine manner and recommended him highly. 1 understand though that he has not been too successful, How uuch is his fault I am not prepared to sey. The fact remains that he apperently did mot fit into the situation as well as we thought he could. For this reason, I would feel reluctant to recommend him for e nob as large as Maryville. Henson has many fine qualities and I am sure that after a few bumps will make a good coach, but that of course razains for the future. If I can furnish eny additional information regarding Manson I shall be pleased — to do 80. Kindest regards, I an, Sincerely yours
