THE UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA LINCOLN DEPARTMENT OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR October 19, 1957 Dr. Forrest C. Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Alien: The pressing football season has made it difficult for me to keep up with me correspondence. I assure you there has been no intent in overlooking your kind letter of October 14th. It certainly was nice of yourto write us the way you did regarding the injury to one of our men in the Minne- sota game. I am happy to inform you that he is now making rapid progress and will soon be out of the hospital and back in school. It was necessary to operate to remove a blood elot and as soon as this operation was performed he started to improve very rapidly. His parents have certainly been good sports and good soldiers all the way through this ordeal and have been in a most cooperative frame of mind. The arrangements for the basketball coaches meet- ing Saturday, December 4th is entirely satisfactory with me. I just hope that we will be able to meet at the hour set and not have so much delay in getting under way as has been in evidence in the past. In regard to the Bask-O-Lite goals, I would like to reserve my opinion on these until our meeting in December. If the other coaches in the conference are in accordance about these goals, I assure you I would not have any objection to the goal. At the present writing I have not had any time to give to basketball and would be guided by what the other men decided to do. ยป In regard to the candle power of light necessary for taking motion pictures, this matter has been left in the hands of Mr. Selleck.
