MICHIGAN STATE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND APPLIED SCIENCE EAST LANSING DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION October 14, 1959 Mre Forrest C. Allen Director of Physical Education and Recreation University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear "Phog"™: Our athletic council held their monthly meeting yesterday and I presented my tentative basketball schedule to them showing two options on our Christmas trip one of which was to return by the southern route playing Colorado, Kansas, etce and the other showing two games in Oregon which carried a $800.00 guarantee. The council decided that they would play the Oregon games, inasmuch as we are only allowed eighteen games and to play additional numbers would require special faculty action. I believe that we could have gotten this action but we were a little hazie on what arrange- ments would be made for contests on December 29 and 350 following the game between Kansas and Michigan State. Neither Mr. Kemper of the Topeka Daily Capital nor Mr. Holm wrote me as you suggested they would and consequently it seems that all our work has been in vain relative to getting together. I surely do appreciate your fine cooperation in helping you work out a trip and you can count on me going to the limit for you at any time that you might be taking a trip through this section. Very sah Peete, Ben F. Van si koes a Coach of Basketball BFV:h
