Dear Sir:

This letter is written to inquire if there is to be a vacancy in
your department in the near future; and if so, what the possibilities are
obtaining such a position.

I am at present in my fifth year as Instructor in Physical #duca-
tion here at the Massachusetts State College; the duties of which position
I have ineluded on a separate enclosed sheet.

I ama graduate of Massachusetts State College in the class of 1934
(B.S.), and also received an M.S. here in 1938. In both my undergraduate
and graduate study, my major subject was Education and my minor was Physi-
cal Education. In 1933, 1 was elected to Phi Kap Phi, scholastic honor
society. :

As an undergraduate, I earned varsity letters in football and base-
ball for three years and in basketball for two years, and have eoached all
three sports since.

For a reference, I can suggest Professor ©. S. Hicks, head of the
Division of Physical Education here at Massachusetts State College. I shall
be glad to supply additional references and information at any time.
