One thousand apologies. I was mistaken as
to the date of our commencement. It is and:
ivitations say - Thursday , May 21, 1942

I was given authority to offer you the usual
honorarium which still stands should you de-
cide to skip the Humbolt date to save tires.

In event you'decide to come here on the date
shown - please phone at our expense.

This is the day that we register - again. I
foolishly thought that I had made the sacrifice
in World War @ne that should suffice for me

and my family. I wonder if we will ever
know the old 'freedom' or if it was just the

. best plan.

Hope you dedide to be our speaker, but have a
conviction that you will keep the Humbolt date.
Trust there has been no inconvenience. Our

men here will be disappointed when they hear

of our boner - As I wrote that line the di-
rector walked into the office with sugar blanks.
He was disappointed and suggested a change in
déte but too late.
