Posters identifying your Local Board as a Veterans Information Center are being shipped direct to you by the National Headquarters. 2. I understand that this poster is printed in four colors and fcatures the gold discharge emblem with the words "Veterans Information Center" in large red letters. The poster is designed to identify your Local Board as an information center where veterans and the public can obtain information in accordance with the Selective Service Veterans Assistance Program. 3. The Veterans Information Center poster is an identification poster and should be placed in a window or door or similar location facing the street wher possible, where it may be scen by the largest number of passers-by. 4, It is recommended that as many of the following steps as possible be carried out to tie in with the Local Board's activities as a Veterans Information Center: (a) Retype the attached news release (item A) with the correct information inserted and .ske any other changes de= sired and submit a typewritten copy to the editor of each local newspaper in the Local Board's territory. (b) Address letters similar to the attached (item B) to each of the following in the community: Travelers Aid Society U. S. O. Manager Chief of Police and all police stations Newspaper offices Community Information Bureau Chamber of Commerce Manager of each hotel in the community Station agent, all railroad, bus, and interurban stations | Such other agencies as are appropriate (c) Contact all local radio,stations, informing thon of .the . functicns of the Local Board as a Veterans Information Center and suggesting spot announcements on the nature of the Local Board's services to veterans.
