Dear Miss Shaw:

you doubtless know, the Board of Direstors

| night, February 9, went on record with a strong en-
dorsement favoring en increase in salaries for our
Lawrence teachers. The Kiwanis Club acted in a
similar manner at théir meeting the next day.

I want to assure you that the Ropary Club is
always happy to do anything possible to help solve
the problem of teachers' salaries here in Lawrence.
We are proud of our school system, and of course the
teachers are responsible _— atending that
Lawrence schools enjoys

In my broadeast over KFKU on Thursday night, |
February 10, at 9:50 I called attention to this orisis
facing our public schools.
