Dear Dr. Allens —

Music Week observance in Lawrence, for various reasons,
will come considerably earlier this year than in pre-
vious years. |

Starting Sunday, April 16, this community will take rec-
ognition in a specific manner of the important place
music is playing in the national picture today.

Under the severe stress and strain of an all-out war time
program, music right now is making a notable contribution
to morale in industry, in civilian life, and in many ways |
among the armed forces themselves.

In previous years the Rotary Club has participated in Music
Week by inclusion of special music in its program for the
week. We are asking such an observance be planned again
this year. If our office can be of any assistance, please
feel free to call upon us.
