Dear "Phog": The William J. Bland Post of the American Legion has arranged a sports' parade for the evening of October 15th, 1941 at the University Club. The meeting will be an informal dinner. Clyde McBride will be there on baseball, Ted O'Sullivan on football, Leonard Dodson on golf, Gabe © Kaufman on wrestling and boxing, and our mutual friend, Jack Cannon, has designated me to procure your attend- ance to look after the interests of basketball. You and I both know that Cannon is a hard man, and inasmuch as he has delegated me to produce you at the time and place specified, I hope you will let nothing stand in the way of your appearing on that date. Many of your friends belong to the Bland Post, and I know you will enjoy renewing old acquaintanceships. I will appreciate it very much if you will let me have your acceptance so that the full prospectus of the meeting can be published in the Post's monthly bulletin. With kindest regards, I am Yours very truly, oe [GOLMwnrae CMB: MR
