September 24, 1943. Mrs. A. We Stedham, The Lamer Hotel Company, Salina, Kansas. Dear Mrs. Stedham: I find that I have created an unpardonable @rror. Messrs. Cleavinger and Glover, of the Extension Division of . Kansas State College, came through Lawrence, Kansas, on their way back from Manhattan and late in the afternoon stopped at the Lawrence Country Club to ask me if I would cooperate with their Extension Division by going to Iola on November 15th. — They desired me to speak with Dean Umberger at a Farm Bureau membership drive. Knowing that I endeavor to keep my schedule as free as possible, and not having the dates before me, I agreed that I would go. This morning I received a letter from the chairman of the PTA at Pratt, Kansas, asking me to speak there. I asked my secretary to check to see when I had the date with your PTA at Salina, and she informed me that it was the same date, Nov- ember 15. : I feel very guilty in this oversight, but since it is Kansas State, for me to turn them down doubtless it would be misunderstood. I have already received an appreciative letter from them, and now I am going back to our previous correspondence in which you state that November 22 or November-29 wuld be agreeable to youe I am wondering if you could change the date to November 22. I will appreciate your kindly consideration. Very cordially yours, 2 Director of Physical Education, | FOA:AH Varsity Basketball Coach.
