DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS LAWRENCE October 8, 1938. Dr. Forrest Ce. Allen, Director of Physical Educatione Dear Dre Allen: We had a meeting of all the men interested in organizing a gymnastic club at the University of Kansase - The following nine men reported: Frank Anneberg, Glenn Brown, Bill Green, Dean Hammond, Erte Sanchioni, Gene Roads, Howard Trabant, Virgil Wise, and Leonard Wolfe Frank Anneberg was elected temporary president, and the name of the club will be “Jayhawk Tumblers". The boys decided that they would rather wait for about one month, until they become better acquainted with each other, before they elect the permanent officers of the clube We have decided to meet for regular practice two times per week, at 4:30 on Tuesday and Thursday, until a later date when we will perhaps have to change practice periods to an evening hour. Dre Allen, we would like to have our picture in the Jayhawk Magazine, and we are going to attempt to give this club quite a bit of dignity. Any way in which you can help us realize this will be very much appreciated by the clube Very truly yours,
