TREASURY DEPARTMENT WASHINGTON DEFENSE SAVINGS STAFF January 26, 1944 To the Members of the Special Names Committee Dear Friends: Again I wish to say the Special Names Committee is doing a good job. So far as I have been able to contact the members of the Committee, I find the canvass has been made promptly and the results have been all we could hope for. Doubtless you have found quite a few conflicts between the work of our Committee ani the other Committees on the Drive. Probably most of these are unavoidable. However, the main point is to sell bonds; to whom the credit goes is a minor matter. _ Jf you have some prospects who have money in the bank and may want to use it later, don’t overlook the possibility of the 7/8 Per Cent Bonds. If purchased and kept for 60 days or more, they will materially help war finances. ; Many of the members have turned in their cards and reported progress. If you have not turned in your cards to the Chamber of Commerce, do so now. Even if you have not finished the job, turn in the cards of those who have bought or given a definite promise. If there is any way that George Docking or I can help, let us know. Thanking you for your co- — I am 7 ly yours,
