I, SPECIALIST (A)

Le Qualifications:

(a) Positive leadership ability.

(bo) Good physical specimen with military bearing.

(c) Alert and pleasing personality.

(ad) Experience as a competitor or teacher in one or more
highly competitive sports (football, boxing,
ol track, swimming, soccer, lacrosse,
ete. e : ‘

(e) Education- at least four years high school or equivalent.

(f) Minimum age- 21 years. ;

2. In view of the assignment of a large number of specialist
(A) as recruit instructors, special consideration should be given
to the following as condidates for this classifications:

(a) Men who have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability
as apprentice petty officers during recruit train-
ing. |

(bo) Men who have had previous measurable experience as
military drill instructors.

3. Disposition: Unless otherwise directed, transfer in present
ratings to U. S. Naval Training Station, Bainbridge, Maryland, for
instruction in Physical I. structors School in numbers to fill weekly
quotas as directed by the Bureau.

4, Students who are found unsatisfactory in the course at the
Physical Instructors! School shall be transferred to general detail.
