Dear Dr. Allen:

The Third War Bond Drive has closed, with Douglas
County over the top.

In this Drive the members of the Special Names
Committee did their part manfully and are entitled to a
lot of the credit for reaching the County’s quota. The
Committee’s sales accounted for nearly half of the County’s
quota.

I want to congratulate you and every member of the
Committee upon the splendid results achieved, and thank you
for your co-operation and contribution to the war effort.

I was obliged to go away on a business trip before
the Drive closed, and greatly appreciate the fact that
Gerald Hesse took over and handled the finals in his usual
efficient manner.
