Dear ire Copeland :

 

. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your good letter of the
24th instant and I assure you that nothing would give me more pleasure
then to speak at your Banquet at Holyrood.

| I have agreed to coach the varsity baseball team this
spring and we have gemes with Oklahoma on April 17th and 18th. It
might be possible that I co.ld speak at your Banquet on April 22nd.

The State does not make provision for our traveling ex-
penses and I make no charge except for transportation with my Buick
Roadmaster which I drive. It is necessary because of my heavy
schedule to go and come et my convenience, therefore, I drive a large
sar so thet I am not worn out when I get te my destinetion after a hard
drives I find thet I cannot operate my cer for less than 5¢ per mile
each waye ;

If you would care to pay for my transportetion on this basis,
I will make every effort to be with youe Iwould appreciate it if you
would write meet your earliest convenience end let me mow if the
22nd is agreeable with youe
