University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen; I have received and thank you for your letter of April 5. I note that you plan on being in Wichita for the dinner at the Innes Tea Room at 6:45 Saturday April 19, and am indeed glad that you will be able to be with us for the dinner. I hope that Mrs. Allen can accompany you, and if she does, we will of course ex- pect her to be our guest at the dinner. The same is true if Robert should come with you. If it will be inconvenient for you to wear a Tuxedo you need not do so, but it is customary for our speakers to thus dress. Please feel free to choose your own subject and I am sure what you have to say will be grate- fully received. The club is made up of men and women in about equal numbers, and while professional people, lawyers, doctors and teachers prevail, there are a great many busi- ness people, merchants, manufacturers, etc., among our membership. We also have as members a great many faculty members from our two local universities. The dinner begins at 6:45 and we then have a short musical prelude before the speaker is intro- duced. Everybody has a good time and it is not our pri- mary purpose to solve world problems at these meetings. I shall reserve a room for you at the Allis Hotel and will meet you at the Innes Tea Room at approximately 6:45 P. M. HVG MG
