STUDENT AID PLAN of thé Ki Us. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The general Alumni Association of the University of Kansas through
its local chapters has started a program of assisting out-standing graduates
of Kansas high schools in their desire to attend the University. The following
points obtain:

be Only those who have shown ability and ambition by their high
school careers to benefit themselves and the University by their attendance.
Special interests and talents may be in any field.

ce Only those who are undecided or who think it impossible to attend

3. Alumni Loan Scholerships for Freshmen.

From c small amount of money contributed’ by alumni for loans and
scholarships, now held by the K.U. Endowment Association, there is available
enough funds to start in a modest way on the granting of "Alumni Loan Scholer-
ships for Freshmen." Here ere the regulations so far as they have been
worked outs

Local alumni committces will nominate persons for these
Freshmen loan awards on the basis of scholarship, character and
promise of leadership in whatever career the student seems ‘headed
fore Need for financial assistance is taken for grantede

The K.eU. Committce on Aids and Awards, of which Miss
Wealthy Babcock is chairman, will have final approval of ewardse

At present each Alumni Loon Scholarship for Freshmen
will be for $50.00 which will be a loan without intgrest until
one yoar after leeving schoole; After the expiration of one
yoar after leaving school it will draw intercst et 4%.
