November 7, 1941 Supt. T. R. Palmquist Turner Public Schools , Turner, Kansas | — Dear Supt. Palmquist, I acknowlege receipt of your letter of November G6. I beg to state that there will be a section of the “Knot-hole Gang” for the Missouri game for 257. This is open to Junior high end high school boys. It is necessary that each one of the high school boys have their 25¢ ready in change so that time will be saved at the Athletic Office. This is to facilitate the movement of the large group who come about game time. in regard to my conversation with Mr. Merten Pettey. last Tuesday evening I told him that I would be gled to speak to your group on the evening of November 22. I asked him to write me so that I could check on my dates. ‘The State of Kansas provides no finances or traveling expenses for us when we go out as geakers. I drive a Buick automobile and find that I cannot operate the car for less than 6¢ per mile. If you would be willing to pay this transportation charge I would be gled to come. I am sure that you can appreciate that with the mary calls thet I get to speak, this item would run into _ quite some amount, and for that reason it is necessary that these - expenses be taken care of. Will you kindly write me and inform me if this is agreeable to you under this condition? Sincerely, . Director of Physical Education and Recreation FCA/pg Varsity Besketball and Baseball Coach
