: The State of Kansas makes no provision for travel
expenses and since I drive a Buick Roadmaster, making a large
car serve for several purposes, I find that it is impossible
for me to drive my car without reccivig mileage expense of
5¢ per miles This, of course, is for each waye

I have never made a charge for speaking to high
schools in our own State; it is different when I go out
of the State, but I have always firmly felt that the faculty
members and employees of the University of Kansas are servants
of the State and they should render service when called _—
by their patrons,
