Dear Dr. Allens

This is what you get for being so well known, The Kansas City
Feed Club has a monthly dinner which is mainly attended by fellows in the
feed business, but there are also a few grain men and millers who attend,
making a total generally of about 100 men,

Mr. Johnson of the Northwestern Miller and Mr. Chas. Dreyer are
a committee who are assigned the task of getting a speaker for this dinner
to be held at the Phillips Hotel on March 18th. These two gentlemen thought
that I knew you well enough to ask that you speak to this group on March 18th,
I doubt that I know you quite well enough to impose upon you to this extent,
and please do not hesitate to ask to be excused if you are tired of speech
making, for this is not my particular organization, and I am merely acting
for the friends who have requested that I write you,

They have selected the above date because they thoughl you would
weet be here anyway to attend the Iowa State-Creighton Game, and they will
be glad to have the dinner at 6:00 p.m., and allow you to leave whenever,
or as early as you care to close your talk, They will gladly arrange the
time for your convenience,

Naturally, the first thought was of your talking on basketball,
but will gladly listen to anything you have to say on any subject. As
time is short, they have asked that you telephone me collect upon receipt
of this letter, so that they will know promptly of your decision.

@Asmasorry we could not have won against Oklahoma, but believe
that you did your usual excellent job with the nice lot of boys this season,
In closing, will say that you made quite a hit at the Rally Assembly the
morning of that game from what I heard at the Gamma Phi House at dinner
Friday night. Thanking you very much for a very good winter's entertainment,
