Dear Principal Miller,

I greatly appreciate the kind invitation extended to me in

letter of November 17. I feel regretful, however, that
I will net be able to go to Marshalltown on November 25 when |
you will have your annual football assembly.

I would have to leave here after class on Monday at 10:50 in
order to get to Knoxville for my meeting, then Monday night it
is imperative that I return to Lewrence immediately after that
meeting.

I recall with pleasure my visit to Marshalltown a few years ago
and assure you that I would enjoy coming this time if it were
at all possible. |
