Allen Department of Athletics, Kansas University, Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: We are practically at the close of our football season and will have our annual football banguet the night of November 17. This is quite a gala affair and has been given at the end of each foot- ball season for the past ten years by the mothers of the members of the squad. In view of the fact that all food and other necessities are furnished by the parents and teachers, it is practically impossible for me to offer remuneration to our Speaker of the evening. However, we do find enough money to pay for che gasoline and we give the speaker a meal without charge. There have been several requests that I attempt to secure you for this event. Most of the older boys were in school when you Spent the day here two years ago and feel that they know you especially well. My coach and I wish to acd our voices to those of the boys in inviting you over for the evening. Feel free to bring someone along if you so desire, and a aeeeed © to thirty minute talk will be sufficient. Yours very ek le HAW : BB A. Williamson Pa
