Parker, is a very dlose friend of mine and nothing would give me more pleasure than to be able to speak to your Teacher's College football group as well as meeting your fine Central High School Squad. Dr. Parker | head of the English department and dean of men at the Missouri State Teachers College when I was Director of A tics and cosch of all sports from 1912 to 1919. For that and \ other reasons, I will be happy to accept your engagemente | ‘fhe state does not provide any traveling expenses, so it is up to the speakers to make their own arrangements on out-of-state speak- ing engegements. It's been my policy always to live and let live. I would enjoy meeting with the Cape Girardeau Lions , and if you'il kindly inform me what you've been paying your previous speakers, I'm sure we can arrange a date. I'm driving e large Buick and since it's necessary for me to go and come on rather a close schedule, TI find that my expenses are more by this method of transportation than if I used the railroad.
