+ received your letter of February 10 in which you advised
me that Mr. Spangberg's situation was rather desperate on
account of his need for tuition and other fees. This

will be handied in due course of time.

The reason for delay has been the Selective Service Boerd,
The Board chairman has advised me that he will inform

me aS to Mr. Spangberg s listing immediately, however,

I have waited about on@ day and he has promised to hurry
the matter along. I have been assured that his difficulty
will resolve in his favor, however, I must wait for the
Board to give me official notice.

beveral prominent Kansas alumni have promised to provide

the necessary funds for Mr. Spangberg to continue. This

will be done, I am sure. If you can advise Mr. Spangberg
along this line I will appreciate it very much.

The Kansas alumni here do feel that Mr. Spangberg will
make you @ good athlete. He has size and ability which
makes him very capable. |
