Danquet, honoring the Medicine Lodge High Sehool Basketball Teame

I assure you it would be a great pleasure to meet
with your fine groupe However, I am coaching the Varsity Baseball
Team and since only one of the regulars is returning from last year tg
squad, wo have a Hereulean task, :

. Personally, I have no business absenting myself from
school when the baseball team will need all the practice sessions they
can get. Also, April 9 is just following the opening of ovr season
against the Kansas Aggies on April 7 and 8» Horever, I aleo recognize
the fect that wo owe some duty to our petrons over the Stete, and for
thet reason I an wavering between desire and dutye It is a very great
pleasure for me te get over the State of Kansas and meet our fine citisente

. The State does not provide traveling expenses for us and
any trips that we wake are financed from ovr own pockets I drive a
Buick Roadmaster because I am forced to make rapid drives with es much
safety as possiblee Thorefore, I find that I cannot operate my car for
less than 57 per mile each wayg and naturally I would have some small
expenses such os meals, If you would be willing to pay that amount I
will be glad to make arrangements to be with you on April 9, You my
