Dear Supt. MeMullen;

I wish to thank you very much for your iindness in asking
me to speak at your highschool eomencement on Mey 15th.

It would, indeed, be a pleasure to be with you but I have
previous commencement dates. On the 14th, 1 sveak at Eudora; the 16th,
at Caldwell; on the 19th, I address the Kel’e Alumni at Tulsa, and on the
20th, I have a commencement address at Burns, Kansas; on the 27th, at
Severance, “ansas, on the 28rd and 24th, I have two baseball games with the
Kansas Aggies at Manhattan, and on the 26th and th, we pley Iowa State,
here.

__ Our baseball team also plays «| Columbia on the 9th and 10th of May.
We play Lincoln on the 12th and 13th. Since I am coaching the Baseball team,
it looks as though my schedule will be very full. The only date that I would
have open would be May 17th, and of course that’s on Saturday night and I'm
quite sure this would not be acceptable to you. If it is of course I would
be glad to be with you, however, 1 do wish to thank you for asking mee
