Dear Dr. Allens

Let me at this time express to you my sincere thanks
for having been chosen as one of the officials in the
play-off at Wichita this past Monday and Tuesday. It
was indeed a most pleasant surprise and I do want you
to know how honored I felt at being invited.

It was with the keenest regret that I could not accept
and I want you to know how sincerely sorry I was. It
happened that I had to be out of the City and as I
explained to you over the 'phone this made it impossible
for me to accept.

In closing may I again express my sincerest apprecia-
