Dear Fellow Alumi:

For the first time in twenty-seven years -- -- my tenure at
the University of Kansas -- can I faintly discern the green light
for athletics.

= With the coming of Ernie Quigley as Director of Athletics,
came also an authorization from the Board of Regents for an
aggressive athletic policy and a constructive football program
that will win games, and not just build character. Ernie has
already put vitality in the thing here. He has better-fed and
better-clothed the athletes than has any other administration.
He realizes that he must deliver the goods. But he has a grand
opportunity to do it because of the low estate of the football
team. We are working with him one humdred per cent, and we have
