Dear Bobs:

I have looked over your transcript and find that you have 84
hours credit in various subjects. However, many of your subjects could
not be used in the physical education curriculum. You apparently have
a minor in mathematics.

If you want to major in physical education, you would need 75

hours work, or about 5 semesters in addition to the work you now have.

You will need 36 hours in physical education, 21 hours in education,
plus general biology, zoology, physiology, human anatomy, fundamentals
of speech and two more hours of English composition and literature, a
total of 18 hours in addition to your education and physical education.
Should you decide to embark on a program of physical education, you should
trensfer to the School of Education,

I am enclosing a circuler which will give you some idea of the
physical wtenns ian program. It is not quite up to date but is approximately

reservations for 6 $2.00 tickets for you.

I asked Mr. Baker to deduct the price for a special
delivery letter and the $12.00 for the tickets and to
enclose your balance with the tickets. The tickets arrived
in Kansas Gity today and so you should receive yours soone

Answering your good letter of the 15th instant, I
would say that if the young man has a contract signed with
the New York Yankees that he is ineligible to participate.
It is too bad that these kids sign these contracts, when |
by signing they do their own selves an inreparable —
and benefit from it not a whit.

Dear Fog;

There is a young man from McPherson who plans to attend Kansas
University when he gets out of the service. He is quite anxious
to know whether or not he will be eligible to participate
because he has a contract with the New York Yankees. Ina
try out a few years ago, he was the only one selected out of
300 participants at Kansas City. He has not received any pay,
nor did he receive a boms for signing. Does this make him
, ineligible?

He is an outstanding student making mostly A grades and was an
outstanding athlete of McPherson High School, especially basket-
ball. His name is Lt. Vance Carison. I am sure hé would make
you a valuable player and one of the very féw McPherson basket-
ball players that I have felt would make your squad. His
parents are wealthy enough, I believe, that he will be able

to go to school without financial help.

Please let me know as soon as possible as he and his father are
quite anxious to know whether he will be eligible to participate.
