SS tage September 28, 1945 of S/Sgt. Elon M. Torrence, 372 4238 78th AAPBU Sheppard Field, Texas Dear Blon: Just received your change of address. I do not know just when I will put out or write another Jayhawk Rebound but will see that you obtain the next one. The Schnelbacher on the Oklahomaeliondo AAF team is none other than Otto. He has been at Hondo, Texas for some time now. I had a letter from him in July and he mentioned then that he had an opportunity to utay and play football. A few days ago I had a letter from Charlie stating that he intends to be on the campus by November 1. He is now stationed at Coffeyville Army Air Field and his wife and young daughter, Sheryl, dropped by the house last week-end but we missed them. The last time I heard from Evans he was a physical training . officer at Peterson Field, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is coaching football out there and enjoying himself a lot. As far as I know Dixon is still overseas because I sent my last Jayhawk Rebound to him at a San Francisco APO. Shenk's boys put up a great fight again TCU and though they are kew men they seem very promising. Last night they beat Denver 20-19 and this should really give the team and school a big boost. Coanics for the good wishes in the coming basketball season. I'm calling the boys together Monday for the first meeting and we will be in full swing before dong. Looking for you back soon. 2 Sincerely, Director of Physical Education, Varsity Bttsketball Coach FCA: 1m -
